The Zombies, one of the greatest British rock bands of the 1960s, come to Boisdale of Canary Wharf for two nights to celebrate their induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Just days after their Boisdale shows they’ll be in New York alongside Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, The Cure, Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, and Roxy Music to receive the music industry’s greatest accolade.
The ceremony takes place 50 years to the day after The Zombies’ classic “Time of the Season” first hit number 1 in the US charts. Their massive American success began five years before that when they were the second U.K. band following the Beatles to reach number 1 with “She’s Not There.”
The band’s live performances, described by Rolling Stone as “absolutely triumphant”, take fans on a journey through time from their early hits and 1968 masterpiece “Odessey & Oracle” to post-Zombies solo favourites (including “Say You Don’t Mind” by their lead singer Colin Blunstone and “Hold Your Head Up” by Argent) plus tracks from their new album “Still Got That Hunger”.
The band’s unique sound owed a great deal to the breathy, distinctive vocals of Colin Blunstone and the jazzy organ riffing of Rod Argent. These two legendary performers are still at the top of their game, and will strip down their classics in this intimate piano & voice performance . This great show encompassing over 50 years of British rock history will be one of Boisdale’s 2019 highlights.
