Dave Brubeck achieved the greatest selling jazz single in history when Take Five was a global number 1 in 1959. Brubeck is remembered today for his clever use of unusual time signatures – pretty much all jazz is in 4 time but he played in 3, 5, 7 and even 13 and along the way created some of the best known and loved music of the 20th century. Pure Brubeck is led by saxophone colossus Simon Bates whose recreation of the beautiful pellucid sound of Paul Desmond is the closest to the original you’ll ever hear. Playing the role of Brubeck is the astonishing Harry The Piano
