Mica Paris, the UK Queen of Soul will be joining us in celebration of her eagerly anticipated forthcoming new album honouring the undisputed Queen of Jazz, Ella Fitzgerald. The performance on 25th April will celebrate Ella Fitzgerald’s 100th birthday! The album is to be produced by the iconic Guy Barker. Mica will be performing a number of her favourite classic Ella songs such as ‘Everytime we say goodbye’, ‘Holiday in Harlem’ and ‘I’ve got you under my skin’.
The range, power, and sheer soulfulness of Mica Paris' singing made an immediate impact on the UK music scene in 1988 when she released her debut, platinum-selling album, 'So Good’ from which she had her first massive hit, 'My One Temptation' and from 1988 to 1998 Mica was rarely out of the charts.
2003 saw Mica presented with the "Gold Badge Award" by the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters for her contribution to the British entertainment industry and in 2004 she was voted in the Top 10 Great Black Britons of our time. Mica has also hosted two seasons of the popular BBC 1 TV show 'What Not To Wear'. Other TV shows followed with Mica being an expert judge on Gok Wan's 'Miss Naked Beauty 2008' for Channel 4 and ITV's 'CelebAir' and is also a regular guest on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and ‘Loose Women.’
